These guys were probably working a grain elevator and are now on their way back to the barn in Cootamundra.

XPT Headed for Sydney
Title:  XPT Headed for Sydney
Description:  It's almost 4PM as the daily six-car XPT out of Melbourne heads for Sydney. It's near KP372 and approaching Galong NSW on a steady 1.4% grade. 2015, the trailing unit here, appears to be missing a good part of its pilot. Country Link's XPTs entered service in 1982 and are now approaching the end of their lives although no replacement has been announced.

Title:  VLs Working Goulburn
Description:  A pair of VL-class units shunt cars by the city's passenger station. The 12 VL-class units were built by unique builder AVTEQ in Melbourne in 2006-07 and are all owned by Chicago Freight Car Leasing-Australia. (CFCLA). They have EMD 16-645 engines rated at 3300HP each and are usually leased to operators in New South Wales and Victoria. CFCLA's main shop is about a mile south of the depot; it leases power and cars to operators throughout the country.

Description:  GrainCorp Alco DL531 48218 is part of a 'down' grain train at Junee on a fine Saturday mornilg. These engaging little guys have been working grain throughout NSW for years, 165 having been built between 1959 and 1970. They carry a turbocharged 6-251 Alco engine that puts out about 1000HP.
