Interior shot of control stand fro RDG 621, An EMD GP 7, Built 5/1953, 1,500hp, Serial # 18421, Order# 5250, Frame# 5250-13. This model of locmotive was used in main line and local freight service. The Reading had 37 GP 7's in freight service to replace steam engines. The GP7's were amongst the group know as First Generation Diesels. It could attain a speed of 65mph operating cab or long hood forward. The long hood was designated as the front, noted by the F painted next to the steps (long hood).
