Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5908, a BS-6 switcher built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in August of 1942, rated at 660 horsepower, and retired in June of 1964 after 22 years of revenue service. It's one of the PRR's very first diesel-electric locomotives! This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Diesels On The Pennsylvania" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (819-14). |

Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione. Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9011, a BS-6A switcher built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in April of 1949, rated at 660 horsepower, and retired in September of 1965. Partially visible at the left is PRR engine #5908, a BS-6 switcher built by Baldwin in August of 1942, rated at 660 horsepower, and retired in June of 1964.
