Description:
On a cold wintery day, Canadian Pacific 4-6-2 #2439 has stopped to take on water before heading out with its passenger train. Built by the Canadian Locomotive Company in December of 1944, it served until retirement and scrapping in September of 1962. Original specs - G3 class, 200 psi boiler pressure, 25x30" cylinders, 75" drivers, engine weight of 299,000 lb and tractive effort of 42,500 lb. No photographer was listed for the photo.
