Description:
Horseshoe Curve-1961. Here is an original photo that I took at the Pennsylvania Railroad's Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 17 August 1961. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #5708, #5707, and #5709. All three locomotives are EP-22's built by EMD in 1952 and rated at 2,250 horsepower each. They are pulling an eastbound mail/express train around the Horseshoe Curve and down the Allegheny Mountains to Altoona and points East.

Description:
WIL-ALT-65. Here is an original photo that I took during a trip on Pennsylvania Railroad passenger trains from Wilmington to Altoona on 28 March 1965. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #5709, #5856-B, and #5902. All were built by EMD. #5709 and #5902 are EP-22's rated at 2,250 horsepower each; #5709 was built in 1952, but #5902 was built in 1951. #5856-B is an EP-20 built in 1948 and rated at 2,000 horsepower. They are backing-up to couple onto a 17-car passenger train from New York City heading to Altoona, Pittsburgh, and points West. The time is 5:25 P.M.
