PREX 3054, which appears to have a 50 Years OLS Sticker slapped on the nose now, sits behind PREX 2026. The PREX 3054 was the very first unit on the property when Pioneer bought the line from the Maumee and Western back in 2013. Weird to thing that its time on the ND&W is probably coming to an end sooner rather than later. |

Of course, no visit to Defiance is complete without a visit to the ND&W yard. Both the Santa Fe painted GP20u and the Gettysburg GP9 were present. With the recent acquisition of Patriot Rail buying out Pioneer, it is uncertain how long the fleet of old EMDs will last on the ND&W. So, still shots or moving, it is best to get as many as I can. |

The other engineer on the crew hops onto the ATSF unit and pulls it onto the Lafarge Spur. PREX 2045 would then back into the cars and pull forward on the main. Meaning, there would be long hood forward units leading both trains their respective trains when they were done switching in Cecil... I feel like they did this to upset me on purpose, but probably not. |

If I have learned anything about ND&W crews, they are not railfan friendly. At all. The last time i shot this signal from the other side I was yelled at, so I decided to give it a try from the other side. Unfortunately, I did not know that "no clearance" sign was in the way and with the conductor behind me on the other side of the tracks, I decided not to test my luck, and came away with what I could. After this, with no sign of a Napoleon train running today, I decided to hightail west to see if I could find the 2045 again. |
