Caption On Reverse: "A passenger train, with E-7 5849 up front, heads west after crossing the Rockville Bridge into Marysville, Pa. A freight is ready to cross the stone arch bridge and continue east. Enola, location of the large Pennsy yard, is a short distance to the right of the photo. October 20, 1957." Photo by Fred Kern. Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5849 is an EP-20 built by GM-EMD in August of 1947 and rated at 2,000 horsepower. The eastbound freight train is headed by PRR engine #9662, an EF-15A built by GM-EMD in February of 1950 and rated at 1,500 horsepower.

Description:  I stopped to get gas at the TA in Ontario, Cal, where, on my last visit 14 years prior, this line had been at grade level. Now it passes high overhead, which is a blessing for road traffic here. While I was filling up, this transfer came by, with a pair of SD 60s fronting a pair of gensets. Til this point, these were the only gensets I had seen. Too bad I was on the dark side.
