PPCX 800239
Title:  PPCX 800239
Description:  PPCX 800239, formerly AMTK 3222 'Palm Beach', formerly SCL 6602, formerly SAL 15, spotted along the southeast side of the former C&NW depot at Green Bay, WI on 22 Sep. '14. The 6 bedroom lounge car was built by American Car and Foundry Corp. in 1949 and ran on SAL/SCL between NY and FL for many years. AMTK spent $150,000 on repairs and remodeling after a wreck in 1974, but discontinued it from service in 1977. It was purchased from Amtrak by a private owner in 1978. He reconfigured the interior to 5 bedrooms, bar-lounge, and kitchenette. The restoration of the sleeper-lounge car was done well enough that it qualified to be pulled by AMTK trains. Not sure how long he owned it or who owns it now.

IC 2714 and CN 5792
Title:  IC 2714 and CN 5792
Description:  A CN train (with a friendly crew) passes the former C&NW depot as it heads northeast at Green Bay, WI, on 15 Apr. '23. The depot, designed by Charles Sumner Frost, was built in the Italian Renaissance Revival style and completed in 1899. Passenger train service ceased in 1971 but it was still used by the railroad for years. From 1996 until 2021, it was home to Titletown Brewing Co. When they moved to larger quarters in one of the neighboring former cannery buildings, a new restaurant moved in, The Depot Gastro Pub. It looks like the current occupant is a restaurant called simply The Depot. The depot is also a stop on the Green Bay Packers' Heritage Trail. On the right is PPCX 800239, formerly AMTK 3222 'Palm Beach', formerly SCL 6602, formerly SAL 15. The 6-bedroom lounge car was built by American Car and Foundry Corp. in 1949 and ran on SCL between NY and FL for many years. Amtrak spent $150,000 on repairs and remodeling after a wreck in 1974, but discontinued it from service in 1977. Robert Nelson, a tax attorney at the National Railroad Museum at the time, purchased it from AMTK in 1978. He reconfigured the interior to 5 bedrooms, bar-lounge, and kitchenette. The restoration of the sleeper-lounge car was done well enough that it qualified to be pulled by AMTK trains. Not sure how long he owned it or who owns it now.
