The Chase depot was built by the Chase family in 1937. It is the smallest union depot.

Mark Hillgartner General Original depot built here in 1905 I believe, burned and rebuilt in 1937 reusing as much of the old building as possible. Served the Southern Railway and the NC&StL. Believe you are correct: it's the smallest (26x30 feet) union depot in the United States 11/30/2020 11:49:21 AM
