CRIP 4-8-4 #5036 - Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific         
Built by Alco-Schenectady in April of 1930 as CRIP 4-8-4 #5036, the loco was an essential component in the Rock Island roster, serving in both freight and passenger service. It was eventually retired and sold for scrap in August of 1952. Specs - 69" drivers, impressive 250 psi boiler pressure, 26x32" cylinders, engine weight of 434,000 lb and tractive effort of 66,620 lb. This is a Ralph Graves photo.
