Partial Caption: "This is the only PRR locomotive to have had its tender lettered in full: 'Pennsylvania Railroad.'" Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #1053, a D-8A (4-4-0) "American" built in the Altoona Machine Shops during July of 1883 and retired in July of 1901 after just 18 years of revenue service. |
