"PRR Builds & Attracts," Pages 14-15, 1956
Here is a photo excerpted from a two-page article entitled "PRR Builds And Attracts New Industries In 1955." It was published originally in the May 1956 issue of "Pennsy" magazine, pages 14-15. Photo Caption: "Men have started work repairing cars at PRR's huge new Samuel Rea Shop, built at cost of $10 million; when finished this Summer, it will rebuild 50 cars daily." This wide-angle photo was taken at the western end of the Shop ~ as evidenced by the battered hoppers and gondolas that will soon be reconditioned, repainted, and returned to active revenue service.
