| Union Pacific Railroad C-57 2-8-0 430 at an unknown location, on an unknown date, photo by Dick Rumbolz, Chuck Zeiler collection. Unfortunately, I have no information about this photo. This was a negative I purchased from Dick Rumbolz in 1965. He sent a batch of negatives, I selected which ones I wanted, mailed the rejects back to him with a check for what I kept. This particular negative cost me 45 cents. From utahrails.net I determined that this locomotive was built in October 1900 by Baldwin (c/n 18324) as a Vauclain compound and assigned road number 1650, classed C-57. It was later simplified and retired in June 1958. |
