NS 9741 leads detour train 24K over the once electrified and doubled track Trenton cutoff approaching CP King in Plymouth Township. Typically, 24K runs the Harrisburg main down to Abrams yard and splitting off the main at CP Norris to access Septa and the Morrisville connecting track through Norristown. During the Conrail years, this was the preferred routing up until the 80s before they abandoned through freight service on this route. The train is seen here passing the Conicelli Auto Complex which was the former Norristown Wholesale facility which had multiple rail sidings as evident by the severed spur below. This shot was taken from Ridge Pike. |
