| In 1976 Amtrak sent its first order of 40 SDP40F's to EMD and to the ICG at Paducah to be overhauled and repainted, and the units that were done by the ICG were road tested on the PANAMA LIMITED. Here is recently-shopped 539 (EMD 72694-40 ! 7-73 !), the last unit from that order, at New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal between runs. |
