Horseshoe Curve-1966. Here is an original photo that I took at the Pennsylvania Railroad's Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, during mid-May of 1966. Shown here is PRR engine #6037 and two other units whose numbers are not visible. #6037 is an EF-25A built by EMD in 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. They are pushing a westbound mixed-cargo freight train. Note "focal orange" N-5C caboose #477839, as well as the old wooden Burlington Route boxcar. |
