| WIL-ALT-65. Here is an original photo that I took while riding in a Pennsylvania Railroad passenger train from Harrisburg to Altoona during August of 1965. Shown here is a small portion of what's left of the Altoona Shop complex. On the left, one of the old Shop buildings is being dismantled. On the right is a venerable water tower, the last sign of the Age of Steam; in the good ol' days, it stood next to "The World's Largest Roundhouse." |
