"Horseshoe Curve," Page 47, 2004         
Here is page ten of a 24-page cover article entitled "Horseshoe Curve: 150 Years." It was published originally in the August 2004 issue of "Trains" magazine, page 47. Bottom Photo, Partial Caption: "With wooden sleepers in tow, tripleheaded 4-4-2s are led by the rarest of the rare, an Alco steam engine on the PRR ~ in this case, an experimental E29-class four-cylinder compound built in 1905." The "experimental E29" mentioned here is PRR engine #7452, an E-29 (4-4-2) "Atlantic" built by the American Locomotive Company as an E-29 in 1905, rebuilt in Juniata as an E-2B, and retired in April of 1925 after 20 years of faithful service.
