A former passenger car of the Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad. Built in 1914, the car was slowly restored in a period from 1998 to 2004 by students from Yough Middle School and Ringgold, Monessen, Belle Vernon Area, McKeesport and Yough high schools. The Westmoreland-Yough Trail Chapter of the Regional Trail Corp., Mon Valley Education Consortium, Westmoreland Intermediate Unit, Allegheny Power and CSX also took part in the restoration project. A second restoration took place in 2013 and 2014. This is located next to a rebuilt replica of the old P&LE station in West Newton, on the Youghiogheny River Trail/Great Allegheny Passage. |
