CP 0-10-0 #6950 - Canadian Pacific
Nice original photo of one of only three powerful 0-10-0 switchers built by the Canadian Pacific Angus Works in 1913. These were big, beefy switchers with quite sizable coal and water supplies in its tender. Specs - class W1a, one of 3,51" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 23.5x30" cylinders, engine weight of 241,000 lb, tractive effort of 55,225 lb. This powerful switcher was finally scrapped in January of 1954 after serving 43 years with the other two gone by February of 1957. George Harris photographer
