Dziobko. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by John Dziobko, Jr., that was taken in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 10 September 1951. Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9459, an FF-20 built by Fairbanks-Morse in December of 1947, rated at 2,000 horsepower, and retired in September of 1962 after just 15 years of revenue service. The road numbers of the other units pictured here are not recorded. Photo taken from under the 8th Street Bridge in Juniata; the stairway linking the Bridge and ROSE Tower is partially visible at the right. |
