Aerotrain. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by William P. Nixon that was taken near Rockville, Pennsylvania in March of 1956. Shown here is the Pennsylvania Railroad's "Aerotrain," built by General Motors during July of 1955. It's just departed Harrisburg, and is about to cross the Susquehanna River via the Rockville Bridge on its daily sojourn from New York City to Pittsburgh and back. Partially visible at the right is ROCKVILLE Tower. ("Stoneborobranch"; #2 of 4) |
