Pennsylvania freight passing through Vandalia, IL
This is an eastbound Pennsylvania freight headed by PRR 5874 just crossing the Illinois Central at the crossing. The Vandalia station, used by both railroads, is at the left. The Pennsylvania brick interlocking tower appears just right of the locomotive. At the left is a Pennsylvania work truck painted Tuscan Red and lettered on the door for "Pennsylvania Railroad" and "Brownstown, Ill." and the number "89190" and "Southwestern Div." on the truck body.
