| PC Power. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by John W. Stubblefield that was taken near Maroa, Illinois, on 27 February 1968. Shown here (R to L) are Penn Central engines #4352 and another unit whose number is not recorded. Both are FP7A's built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #4352 was constructed as Pennsylvania Railroad number "9852" in June of 1952 and renumbered "4352" in preparation for the PRR-NYC merger. In this context, they're rockin' 'n' rollin' in open country with a mixed-cargo freight train. Many thanks to Mr. Mark Branibar for correctly identifying both the photographer and the location. |
