The engineer of BNSF 2265 waves as his train crosses from main 1 to main 2 on the Seattle Waterfront. This portion of the Scenic Subdivision runs along the edge of Elliott Bay from the north portal of the Great Northern Tunnel to the yard at Interbay. BNSF 2265 was originally built for the Frisco in the early 1970s, and was passed on to BN in the 1980 merger. Today, the unit is still toiling away after nearly 50 years of active service. |
