| While waiting for the Oscela St Croix Velley Rwy fall ride, we spotted this interesting locomotive parked on the siding. Built by EMD in Octobe of 1951 as Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific GP7 #1223, it bounced from one roster to another making it a tru boomer locomoitve but never landing on the Soo Line roster. From CRIP 1223 > CNW 4505 >FVR 4189 > WC 4159 > MNTX #559 at the Minnesota Transportation Musceum. The Museum then chose to paint it as a Soo Line locomotive - one that it had never been before. Interesting choice. |
