Pedro Rezende General EFVM is narrow gauge as you can see here (meter gauge). So, to get the same HP of original locomotives it is necessary to add more electric motors because the original ones can not fit into narrow gauge trucks. 3/9/2005 6:07:19 AM

Pedro Rezende General EFVM dash 8 (1001 to 1006) and standard cab dash 9 (1101 to 1106) were made in Brazil. The wide cab dash 9s (1107 to 1190 - untill now) were made in USA specially to EFVM with those BB trucks. 3/23/2005 8:28:44 PM

Pedro Rezende General BRrazil have three gauges: standard (1,435 mm - only at EFA railroad), broad (1,600 mm) and meter (1,000 mm). EFVM is meter gauge. 9/22/2008 8:32:51 AM
