PRR 5850, EP-20, 1963
Title:  PRR 5850, EP-20, 1963
Description:  24th Street. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 11 October 1963. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #5850, #5803, and #5849. All were built by EMD. #5850 and #5849 are EP-20's built in 1947 and rated at 2,000 horsepower each. #5803 is an EP-22 built in 1952 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. They are about to pass under the 24th Street Bridge and will shortly stop at the Altoona Passenger Station for a crew change with a 27-car mail/express train. The famous Brick Plant is visible in the right center of the photo.

PRR E7 5849
Title:  PRR E7 5849
Description:  PRR E7 5849 at about 47th Street in Chicago, Illinois on May 9, 1965, Ektachrome by Chuck Zeiler. The E7 was built August 30, 1947 (c/n 3985) on EMD Order E745, became PRR 4209 and later PC 4209. Based on my fading memory, this is between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM, so this could be either Train #48, The General, due out of Union Station at 4:15 PM, or it might be Train #28, The Broadway Limited, due out at 5:00 PM.
