Description:  Southern Pacific C630 unit 3143 and 3144 were on their way from the SP’s AVONDALE YARD to the New Orleans Public Belt’s COTTON WAREHOUSE YARD with the regular afternoon transfer run. Alco Switchers
Title:  Alco Switchers
Description:  Four Espee Alco switch engines -- C630's 3143, 3144, 3141 and 3146 -- were stopped on the Huey P. Long Bridge with a westbound transfer run. They were behind an MP train which was waiting for clearance to get into its Avondale Yard. Both railroads had yards at the west end of the bridge, and this causes trains to back up like this. Four-unit sets of C630's were not very common. This was actually two seperate trains which had been combined, so it had a mid-train caboose as well as one on the rear.

SP RSD12 2967
Title:  SP RSD12 2967
Description:  Espee RSD12 2967 and C630 3143 were on a short transfer run en route from the railroad's tiny Three Oaks Yard in Chalmette to its big yard at Avondale. Three Oaks Yard served the American Sugar Company's Chalmette Refinery, and this is reflected in the train's consist; the first car is a Domino Sugar tank car and most of the cars are Airslide sugar hoppers. The train is running over the Southern Railway's BACK BELT at Labarre Road.
