A train headed out the Main Line to Ronkonkoma passes the Queens Village station. A Hempstead train approaches the station on track 4, and will stop here. The Queens Village team yard is to the left, its gantry crane visible at left rear. |

Doubleheaded power |
Description: |
Not exactly. My guess is the MP 15 power pack was not the unit the engineer wanted in the lead, so he swapped the GP 38 from the west end. Its also possible its just a power swap. Either way, its an unconventional arrangement. Rolling through Mineola late at night. |

4012 again |
Description: |
My favorite spot on a Sunday was Bellerose. The platform set between the two Hempstead Branch tracks made a perfect position for shooing Main Line action, such as this 4012 headed for Montauk. |

4012 with 2 |
Description: |
A pair of GP 38s lead 4012, as is typical til late October. Even though the summer weekender and vacation season officially ends on Labor Day, many rider still take advantage of the parlor cars til late October. The railroad accomodates these travelers by running the cars til the weather gets too cold for the beach. |

Tonights train at last centurys station |
Description: |
A Port Jeff train makes its stop at St James, the oldest active station on the Island, built in 1873. The high level platforms don't help the aestheitcs, but do make access for wheelchair bound riders possible. |

This Port Jefferson train is rolling east past Nassau tower at Mineola on its way out to Suffolk county's north shore. The former power house that provided electricty for the several electric lines that once ran here is at far left. |

Still the same |
Description: |
Not much had changed on the Island in the five years since I last lived there, though that would change dramatically in the next few years, with new cars and power. On this warm night in May 1993, it was just another night like most of the last 15 years as the last Oyster Bay train of the evening made its Mineola stop. |
