All are BP-20's built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works and rated at 2,000 horsepower each. #5771 was constructed in June of 1948 and retired in May of 1965 after just 17 years of revenue service. This A-B-A trio is pulling a passenger train around the Curve and down the Allegheny Mountains to Altoona and points East. In this context, "custom built" means that #5771 is equipped with a rotating Mars headlight. |
