Title:  NYC 4006 & 4039 - New York Central
Description:  This pair of EMD units sit quietly in the Toledo Yard. #4006 was built as an E7A unit in October of 1945 while #4039 was built as an E8A unit in June of 1951. Although the slide is marked April of 1975, I believe that this was actually taken before the PC merger as none of the locomotives show any PC markings. Robert M. Rose slide

Description:  Caught by Robert M Rose at the 18th Street yard in Chicago, IL, this EMD E7A unit is showing the wear and lack of maintenance that befell the roster in the declining years. Althoough the slide is marked April of 1975, I believe this was taken prior to the PC merger as none of the NYC units in the group had any markings of PC.

Description:  Although both of these are wearing the original E7A numbers, both were rebuilt by EMD into E8A after a serious wreck near Conneaut, OH, on 3/27/1953. Although the slide by Robert M. Rose is marked April of 1975, I believe the film roll was taken prior to the PC merger as none of the units show the PC markings.
