PRR 9394, ES-12, 1960
Yard Power. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad yard locomotive at Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, on 26 July 1960. Shown here is PRR engine #9394, an ES-12 built by EMD in 1950 and rated at 1,200 horsepower. This photo was taken near the Yard Master's Office, at the very eastern end of South Juniata Street. The PRR's Samuel Rea Shop is in the background. Also visible are the wooden water tower (the last vestige of the "Age of Steam") and "Bald Hill" in the far distance.
